#Textadept plugins code
Size: Size Varies License: Open Source Requires: 7/8/10/11/macOS/Linux I researched a bit before starting work on this plugin, and textadept lsp code was my point of reference :) I did ended implementing some more stuff than textadept (like lazy loading of completion items description, context support, etc. The whole is complemented by support for plug-ins and extensions created by the user community. Textadept also offers an autocomplete module for typed expressions, the ability to edit multiple documents in a single application window, and on top of that, it allows you to personalize, among other things, the color scheme used. All in all its 2000 lines of C code and less than 4000 lines of Lua code. Even though TextAdept is composed of various technologies at the heart its Scintilla with Lua as its main scripting language.
With code syntax coloring and highlighting support for more than 90 different programming languages, we can be sure we won’t get lost in hundreds of lines of code.First of all, Textadept is geared to make basically all program operations via the keyboard, offering keyboard shortcuts for virtually every action and command. Just as Emacs is an interface for Emacs Lisp, TA is an interface for Lua, and with a lot less overhead. The program looks inconspicuous, but despite its minimalism, it has many valuable features that advanced users will surely appreciate. I asked why I wasn't using a better text editor. It maybe isn't for everyone, but in Emacs when I was doing this to duplicate a line: This was a practical thing to do: I can use TA as a browser on really old laptops. I have functions for searching the web, I can search YouTube and open the videos in VLC, and so on. It calls out to lynx and loads a readable text version of the page. Other cheatsheets missed stuff or I don't care to learn key symbols. Specific highlights: Textadept is one of the few editors with syntax highlighting out-of-the-box. Keyboard Shortcuts for Sublime Text 2 for Windows.Commas indicate to press one key, then another (Ctrl + K, 1 Hold control, press K, then press 1).Slashes indicate options, Alt + Shift + 2/3/4 means hold Alt and Shift, then press 2, 3, or 4. It's so small and lightweight that, just for fun, I wrote a "web browser" inside TA. supported out-of-the-box, 1 supported via plugin. I slowly built up functionality inside TA to the point that I realized I could replace everything I was doing in Emacs. Emacs always has a lag when I start it up, whereas TA is instant.

#Textadept plugins full
You have the full power of Lua inside TA.

That's not to say TA does everything you can do in Emacs, but it replaced all of the scripting I was doing with Emacs. Textadept, a customizable editor that includes a Texinfo lexer with fold/unfold functions for large documents. I don't want to start a flamewar, but I moved most things I was doing in Emacs to Textadept a while back because I found Textadept more convenient. Other editor users simply have no concept of how easy it is to whip up some quick script to perform some task in emacs.
